Manufacturers sometimes make minor changes to internal assemblies due to the availability of parts. Could be that one or more of the parts needed for the SV236MK boards was no longer available and they had to change the layout of the board to accommodate the new part(s). That would explain changing the board ID to SV237MK so there would be no confusion if service work was required. No idea if that is the exact explanation for your situation, but it seems a likely candidate.
Vincent Audio Hybrid SV...?
Not too long ago I bought a used Vincent Audio SV 236mk. I've been browsing various forums looking for others experiences with the amp, as well as tube rolling mine, and have found out something rather strange. I found a picture of someone's amp they took and posted. What I have labeled A B C all are marked as SV236MK, as to be expected. However, in my amp (which according to the information on the rear panel & the box it came in is a SV 236MK) those same three boards are marked as SV 237MK!? Unfortunately the amp is at work or I would take pics of its innards, but I know the marking say SV 237MK and the smaller board marked C here is a completely different layout, and even A&B have differences. . It does use 12AX7 in all three tube positions, unlike an actual 237MK. Any idea what is going on?
