Vienna Acoustics 'The Music'

I love the less expensive VA sound and really want to hear their statement product. Is there anywhere in the greater Chicago a guy could go to listen to these speakers? TIA Steve

USAM has a free listing options with affordable listing upgrades, they don't have the rep ag does yet, but we could communicate there

bump. This design is 16 years old now. My concern with VA designs has always been their early x-over to the midrange. The Mahler mids pick up at 80 hz, my beethovens at 75hz, those designs at least had 2 cone drivers to split the work. The VA website claims 'The Music' woofers hand off at 100 hz to a single 7" flat cone driver and tbh I'm skeptical that any flat driver can handle 100hz with authority while covering another 5 octaves. Are owners of these speakers noticing spl limited output? My Beethovens struggle to deliver above 95 spl in room. There's a pair I'm considering and will appreciate owners feedback. My source is mc611's now so power shouldn't be an issue. tia

did you buy yourself a set?

never had any strain listening at high levels (100db) but that was rare and just to show off. lol

my usual "serious" level is closer 85.

mahalo

I found a used pair that I was ready to investigate until a motorcycle collision sidelined me last november. I still have another foot surgery on the books and Dr orders to keep said foot elevated for as long as they keep working to save it(I wrote it off while waiting for the ambulance) so cannot take the time to travel yet still. I am committed to buying a pair as long as they're still complete and functional.

Some itches I just gotta scratch and after 20 years of still enjoying a pair of Beethovens in my 2nd system I need to hear The Music speakers regardless of what else I own.

The Beethovens play clean to 95 db or so from the listening chair, loud enough for all but rock concert levels
