You meant the ta-E88, not the N88 ?
I speak the preamp E88, i preferred my old 700c, that's a question of preference...
But i prefer again the valve preamp with Sony V-fet, this combo is fantastic!

The "bias" must be lowered to 45mv for the ta-4650 and 55mv for the ta-5650.

Find a victor jm-s7, it's a V-fet amp 😉

It seems to me the C-1 is the only V-fet preamp, it's exact?

It's really nice to see people who like V-fet😊
I com from France and the V-fet are not popular, people prefer hegel or rega sound, they never listened to it...
I don't like that sound...
I have a Sony ta-5650 amp (i use the power part) and a "lampizator subminiature" preamp, built by "the polish guru" Lukasz Fikus (SRPP circuit, 6h16b russian valve nos and a 6c4p-ev rectifier valve).
I have a preamp Sony ta-E88, too clear for me, and lack of density, the preamp lampizator is much better, the sound is more realistic!
Lukas Fikus compared it to a Verdier preamp at 20.000€, almost impossible to differentiate!!!

The C-1 preamp is an institution on its own🙏

Has anyone compared a V-fet amp with a Luxman L-505ux or L-590ax ?

I own the pass sit 3 since 2 weeks, very good amp but i prefer my sony ta-4650 with my focal electra 907be (89db) more dynamic, bass really better !

I will soon acquire an Sony ta-N7b power amp (my dream), it was completely restored about a year ago in Paris Seine et Marne. (excepted big filter capacitors)

I'm also on a second hand speakers opportunity, it's a pair of Pioneer/Tad S-2ex.

Do you know this speakers ?

Would that be a good match with the Sony?
