Very Curious, Indeed

I have an Italian pressing of Cat Stevens, "Live in Tokyo 1974". It has a UPC code, and catalog # on the J-cards, but I think that it might be a bootleg or even more probable, a copy of the actual legal CD. But here's the strange part; the CD has a picture of the J-card pasted on the front side of the CD (no Cat.# by the hole)...and the CD itself is jet black INCLUDING THE ENCODED SURFACE THAT THE LASER SCANS! I mean, we're talking about vinyl LP carbon black here! Fidelity is pretty good, but how in heck can a laser read what appears to be a non-reflective BLACK surface!
