Verastarr Grand Illusion Statement power cord rules

I thought my system was pretty much done, but I had a chance to get one of Mike Powell's best cables at a very good price, so I did it.  Upon receiving the 2.75" wide silver ribbon PC, I installed it from my Modwright 5400 Signature Truth CD/SACD player to the Synergistic Research power strip the contains all my sources.

At first listen, I was not overly impressed as I had a 3.25" wide Statement in my system for about a 6 weeks borrowed from a friend.  The wider cable was absolutely awesome in my system.  My expectations were high and the initial session for 2 hours did not show its promise.  The bass was fat and loud, while the highs were a bit subdued.  I let the components stay on with no music playing for  2 more hours.  Then I came back to hear it again.

My friend that loaned me the cable came over and we sat down to listen.  I told him what I was thinking at the time, BUT...the music came on and it was not boring.  It was like a live band was playing with great tone and impact.  The bass was now tuneful and potent, but not overblown.  The voices were so distinctive and real, and the highs now let you hear everything and with a great soundstage, too.  We just kept listening to cut after cut, albums even.  It all sounded so great.  This cable is the latest thing in my system that's different.  What a difference this cable made in the enjoyment of my music.  Mike's best Statement power cables are the real deal. And apparently my system was up to the task as every single thing we listened to was more involving and made you want to move to the music.
