Velodyne's Dim View

I find it quite frustrating as I have purchased two of velodynes DD-15s in the last 2yrs.
The blue logo light on the front of the sub goes dim after time.It doesn't effect the sound, but it was a nice display
to look at at night.
I even talk to one of Velodynes supposed techs and all I got was, that's just the way it is.I mean come on,3000.00 for a sub
and the light goes so dim you can't hardly see it.
I have components on 24/7 for years and the displays hold their brightness.Makes me wonder how much real quality is in there when Velodyne can't pay attention to such a basic thing as a display light.Other's have noticed this also.
Perhaps a Thiel SS-2 or Fathom-113 upgrade,I guess I'm a tad
ticked off,THAT's JUST THE WAY IT IS,gimme a break.

Hi guys
Has anyone solved the problem with the increasingly weak light of the logo?
I always used the lighting which I find very useful to check if the actions via remote control (volume, night, etc. etc.) were learned and executed.

I have the same problem currently, I tried to slightly unglue the logo and I noticed that all the illumination is done through traces similar to a printed circuit board glued behind the logo that light up, no LEDs that transmit the light and not even fiber optic wires.

I wrote to Velodyne who promptly replied that it is possible to find the replacement (DD series) but not of the simple logo but rather of the entire front panel of the subwoofer at the modest price of about $ 500 including shipping; it gave me a heart attack.
A logo that can light up for the cost of $ 10 sold compulsorily together with the front panel for 50 times more is truly a steal.
Customer care justified themselves by saying that 30 years ago when the DD series was marketed there were no LEDs that lasted thousands of hours (I think what was stated is huge bullshits) and this is already or will become a problem for the entire old DD series. Now I don’t want to enter into a controversy with the manufacturer who will have his reasons for exaggerating the cost of spare parts, I the subwoofer, I am enormously satisfied, I just wanted to know if anyone has solved the lighting problem by bringing it back to life.
