Variable Coefficient Filter SONY

Hi - I would very much like to hear what people think about the
various filter choices (the so-called variable coefficient filter) found on SONY CD players. I have a SCD777ES and am getting older and have some hearing problems going on (both chronic and acute) but have friends who hear very well. Which settings are most popular and what differences do you hear ? Thanks for your experiences ! - choppi
