Van Alstine's Synergy Integrated amp: Ranking??

I was recommended the Van Alstine "Synergy" integrated amp as the best choice for "downsizing from separates". Is anyone familiar with this amp's performance?? And how might it compare(or rank) against other integrated amp under $2500? like the Creek Destiny 2; Krell S300i, or the newest Sim audio integrated.

BTW, I know that Van Alstine offers a 30 day home trial period, but I would like to avoid tying up $1800, especially if I decide I don't like it. Will greatly appreciate comments or advice.
