using Tube Passive preamp between SS pre and Tube Amp

I am going tube for first time.Have Tube Amp and Phono tube preamp so far. I am 69 and use hearing aids which help alot. My SS  pre is an upgraded Yamaha C70 with parametric EQ which I use even w/hearing aids. I would like to maintain tone controls and wondering if a tube buffer between SS pre and tube amp would defeat purpose of going all tube. If I go tube preamp with tape in/out and input a parametric equalizer, will the music still go through the tube section and give me the tube quality I am looking for? Would probably need an external input routing unit with it to run TT,CD and tape with it and run everything thru Tape input with para eq so all units would be affected by equalizer. Any suggestions or opinions?
