Upping my digital game

I joined the hi-Rez brigade in 2015/2016 when I added a Bricasti M1 DAC and a MacBook Pro. I’ve purchased hi-Rez music mostly from HDTracks and use JRiver on my MacBook Pro. Right now I think my hi-Rez playback is generally excellent, with the limiting factor, if any, the recordings I’ve purchased (a lot of 50/60’s hard bop).
If I wanted to up my digital game and go to a dedicated storage and playback device, which I know Aurender offers- what are my options (aside from aurender)?
Real world experience in going from a MacBook Pro to a ? As a his Rez storage and playback device would be incredibly helpful.

Games only being sold digitally has also been a hotly contested issue, with many gamers opposed to it. Online sales must therefore "fairly" compete with stores on discount prices in order to uphold positive business relationships and aim to please all clients. The standard price is so high, but you may generally get a great offer a little later.

The majority of people, I suppose, think that selling games online is essentially free, however there are expenses like server upkeep, an IT crew, customer care, etc. Therefore, there is still a need for a markup on digital purchases.
