Evo 4.3 in my original post should have been Evo 4.2.
Upgrading entry level system
I have $1k to spend and my current system is:
Denon DRA-800H receiver (used for streaming and turntable)
Denon DP-300F turntable
JBL 530 speakers
Rhythmik L12
I am considering the Wharfedale Evo 4.3 or Monitor Audio Silver 100 but wanted to ask if I should consider other options.
At least half of my listening is old punk rock with lousy production values but the rest is a mix of other rock styles that might be improved with better equipment.

The only real gripe I have is the Denon has a fatal flaw when it comes to streaming and has to be reset or unplugged every couple weeks. A replacement board did nothing to solve the problem so I’m convinced it’s a software bug. I’m pretty soured on Denon now. But I’m new to the hobby and have never heard middle or high end audio so I don’t know what I’m missing. |
I’m considering saving a few more pennies to get the http://https//www.crutchfield.com/p_745C368B2I/NAD-C-368-BluOS-2i.html?tp=34948 NAD C 368 that has the node 2i feature set included. Somebody talk me down. |
