Upgrade to bifrost multi-bit?

It has been suggested to me that I would hear a great difference between my audio engine D2 and the schiit unit.
I have the equivalent of an $8000 system. My guess is that my system is of sufficient quality that it would be worth spending the money, but I’m interested to know if anyone has direct experience of these two units and can tell me how much difference there was to their ears. I will not have a chance to audition the multibit DAC.
The D2 can be used simply as a wireless sender/receiver which can go into a DAC, or it can be used as a combination wireless device and the  DAC . It has a pretty good chip, but I suspect the processor is lacking compared to higher end devices. Anyway, someone out there probably  knows a lot more about all this than I do.
To be honest, I’m not about to go for any change right now. My question is more to satisfy my curiosity for future purposes. I like to think about what I will do when I gather some bucks and I’m ready to make a change.
