Upgrade Linear Power Supply or Swap Manufacturer?

I purchased a Musical Surroundings Nova III back in January. Love the thing, but contemplating upgrading it with the separate linear power supply unit. Then further contemplating swapping it out for a Herron VTPH-2A. Would anyone have any qualms with this swap? Or should I be dipping by toes into the linear power supply on the Musical Surroundings?
