Upgrade from Thorens TD1500 to Linn Majik SP12?

Advice needed: I have a Thorens TD1500 with a modified Denon DL 103 cartridge. Goldnote PH-5 phono stage. Connected via a Gato Amp 150 to Qualio IQ and Omega Audio Junior 8 XRS speakers. 

I have an option to purchase a Linn Majik SP12. Krane tonearm with Addikt cartridge. 

Question: will there be an appreciable difference (not necessarily better) in sound? I realise that doing a demo with both of them is the best way and I am trying to that at a friends place- in a few days.
Till then seeking advice.
