Upgrade from Linn Ikemi to Majik,Unidisk SC or 2.1

I am having the Linn Ikemi for several years now and find it quite musical, but the Ikemi is discontinued and replace by Majik. In term of red book performance, is the Majik, Unidisk SC or Unidisk 2.1 much better than the Ikemi?

Linn claim on their web site Majik DS outperforms any CD player. Is the song ripped from cd sounds better in Linn Majik DS player than directly playing the song in the Linn cd player?
