I can't help you on the Linn, but I did listen to the 137 vs 139 today at my dealer's shop. The 139 stomps the 137 in both audio and video, it is not even close!!!! I liked the 139, but if video is not important to you, then that opens up all kinds of possibilities for cd. If video is important than it will be tough to beat for less than $5000.00 IMHO.
