Check on the warranty for sure. A lot of video players have had rather poor reliability these days, even from brand names.
I haven't found any benefit using Samsung BluRay player and a Samsung TV, they act like individual components and have no clue to what they are connected. Oddly, on the second Home Theater system, the Samsung Player and Panasonic TV seem to work better together. If LG and their player communicate well, that is some consideration.
I have always found Dolby performance to justify the extra money.
