Two more Rock 'n' Roll casualties.

Not as well known as those whose death or health scare made the headlines, but important figures in the field of Roots Rock.

Dave Edmunds had triple bypass surgery about 15 years ago, and soon retired after a lifetime spent making great music. Two days ago he suffered a major cardiac arrest and died in his wife’s arms, but was brought back to life by a nurse who gave him CPR. He was brought to a hospital, and remains in intensive care. He has suffered some brain damage, and severe memory loss.

Art Fein has been a major figure in the Los Angeles Roots Rock scene for 50 years. He worked in the A & R departments of major and minor record companies, organized and hosted many shows in local clubs, hosted a weekly Public Access TV show (Art Fein's Poker Party) for decades, wrote two books on Rock ’n’ Roll, and managed a few bands in his spare time, in particular The Cramps and The Blasters. Art just passed away at age 79.
