Trigger out only on Zone 2

I want to trigger the Emotiva XPR5 ON when I turn on the Onkyo TX-NR717 receiver. Here's an excerpt from the NR717 manual:

"When Zone 2 is turned on, the output from the ZONE 2
12V TRIGGER OUT jack goes high (+12 V and max. 150
mA for Zone 2). Connecting this jack to a 12-volt trigger
input on a component in Zone 2 will make that component
turn on or off as the AV receiver turns on or off the Zone 2."

Question: Exactly how do I get the trigger feature working. Do I simply connect the trigger cable from OUT on the NR717 to the IN on the XPR5 and press the Zone 2 button?

Or: How do I make sure the XPR5 is a "component in Zone 2"?

BTW: Zone 2 is defined on the front panel as the Whole House Mode, there is no Zone 1.

Yes thats all you have to do to turn on the amp remotely as long as your remote has a zone 2 on/off button.
