Transparent Reference Digital XLR vs Purist (PAD) Aqueous Aureus Digital XLR

Aloha Group. I’m about to buy a 110-ohm interconnect cable for our new Denafrips Pontus II DAC and Lumin U1 transport. I’m considering either a new PAD Aqueous Aureus XLR or a previous-gen used Transparent Reference Digital XLR AES-EBU cable for the interconnect. Has anyone got any experience with these cables and/or feedback? Many thanks.

Follow up post... still hoping to hear from someone with experience with either of these cables. Any feedback appreciated. Thanks.

@youngwatery I understand your predicament, most dealers don't usually have more than a couple of digital XLRs around for you to try.

If you are in the US try The Cable Company, you can get cables on loan.

If not I'd suggest getting a used Cardas, try it out and if you don't like it it'll be easy to sell.

I don't have any experience of both cables you mention but whatever you buy you'll most likely get the itch to try something else later.

Good Luck!

Thank you for the reply. Good suggestion on the loaner program. Sadly The Cable Co. only offers the service to people on the mainland - and we are on Maui. So we end up having to buy and then resell what doesn't work for us.
