In the 30+ years that I have enjoyed this adventure...I would say that three have shots at a top ten of all time list....the original Large Advent, the Dahlquist DQ-10 and the Magnepan MG-20.
Well.....this has been a good thread. However, it kinda sucks that very few of the people on this thread noticed or posted on the thread about the death of Henry Kloss. Mr. Kloss and his impact on Acoustic Research, KLH, Advent, Boston Acoustics....a guy named Tom Holman..ie: THX and beyond...hell where do people think the DQ-10 10"woofer in a 2 cubic foot box..idea came from?

I doubt if any speaker designer had more impact on peoples introduction to the high-end than those speakers designed by Henry Kloss.
Don't think any of these are in the top 10, but they helped a great deal of us become hooked on Audio.

Original Large Advent, Any entry level Magnepan, the 1.2, 1.5 and 1.6 Thiel. Any of the entry level Martin Logans.

And for their part the British have helped quite a few get started with KEF, Ouad, Rogers and others.

We all have to start somewhere and my progression of Magie 1.6 to 3.6 to 20.1 and with Thiel from 1.2 to 1.5 to CS6.

But the true "start" for me was the great Henry Kloss and nearly everything Advent did on his watch....ask Tomlinson Holman and others.
