Tonearm options for VPI SSM?

Any ideas for different tonearms to be used on a VPI SuperScoutmaster? I am using the JMW 9+ signature arm now. VPI says they will have an adapter out around sep. that allows use of their longer arms on the table. I am going to upgrade this fall(arm and cartridge) and was wondering what other people have tried, and the results they have gotten with other arms. Would like to keep the cost around $2500.00 new or used. Thanks for any help.
