Tone arm ghost

I have so much static built up in my vinyl system. It is so bad that when i remove the record from the mat the static pulls the tonearm off of its resting post. What can be done about this?

On your NG machine.. how many revolutions do you use to dry a lp? The less the better

How do you clean them" What material is your platter made of? Don't wear tennis shoes, especially in the winter, if you have a carpeted area.
