I have a recollection of a Topic Discussed during the 90's in the earliest of days of meeting the EE who is today a long term friend, being in discussion about the evolving use of components in a circuit.

He was quite confident in the notion a Valve and Transistor Circuit shares many similarities as the part has a singular purpose, from recollection not Gospel, I recall the notion a Valve vs Transistor Demo' can yield a result where separating them when being listened to would be guessing the A = / B =.

It was also described that Semi Conductors are multi tasking as a component, and the competition created within does not create a condition where produced sound can be predictable.

30 Years on I assume the Semi Conductor is a multi multi multi tasking component, is there now a multitude of end sounds dependent on how the component is selected to function?

Not my strength when such info is on the table, it is the domain of the EE or EE Enthusiasts.
