Hi, I realize this is an old thread, but I just stumbled across it. I picked up the 2.2 at a local pawn shop for >$150. I would gladly have paid $300 for it. Mine came with the Music Hall Magic 2 cart a.k.a. Ortofon OM10.
Thoughts on Music Hall MMF 2.2 at $299?
I know this was a highly regarded machine at its original price, but we now have companies like U-Turn and such with tables on the market in the sub-$300 price range.
My vinyl has been boxed away for 20 years, and I'm ready to get back into it, but I'm not prepared to spend a lot of money on a turntable until I'm settled that it will be a mainstay in my system.
Seems to me if it was a competitive turntable at its original price of $450, that it would be a no-brainer at $299, but before I pull the trigger, just wanted a bit of validation.
