Thorens 160 replacement motor

I recently got a Thorens 160 and did the usual upgrades, and it sounds fantastic but the motor is dying. Has anyone used a new aftermarket TT motor such as premotec on a Thorens 160 with success? I don't want to spend the money for the origin live DC motor right now...rather upgrade the tonearm. Any advice much appreciated.
