Thiel Owners

Guys-

I just scored a sweet pair of CS 2.4SE loudspeakers. Anyone else currently or previously owned this model?
Owners of the CS 2.4 or CS 2.7 are free to chime in as well. Thiel are excellent w/ both tubed or solid-state gear!

Keep me posted & Happy Listening!

I need  a pair of the C's 2.4 as I bought a ss2.2 suggest has cs3.7 as a front and C's 2.4 as surrounds will be looking
I have a question on the difference from the CS 2.4 and the CS 2.4 SE model.  I have a PX05 that lists the channels as CS3.7 for the front which I have and the surrounds as the CS2.4’s which I have a option to buy for surrounds.
Does anybody know if the SE is that different for use of my  PX05 crossover.  If so I’ll get The S1 Integrator.
Shipping a SS3 from the Midwest to the Californiacoast iis over a grand to do it right. So try to find one near by. They are huge. I had my SS2 shipped from Ohio to CA. Freight is the only way to go. They sent it FedEx, what a joke. It was in one piece just luckily.
Tech question about the SS2.2.........
I have the sub with the P05X crossover for my CS3.7’s.  Thinking of buying another SS2/3 sub . Do I need another calibrated crossover for the second sub or is the daisy chain XLR the correct connection.  I know R/L won’t be perfect, but does that chain work.
Tom. I’ll be getting the new Parasound JC5 tomorrow, so will pass on how my 3.7 work with that amp. It’s got the power. Probably will take a month to warm it up properly.
So day one with the Parasound JC5 with my CS3.7’s using the my new Oppo 205.
Absolutely opened up the bass and without using my SS2.2.  I dont impress easily.  I’m amazed.
Previously have used a Mac 452 as well as the 601’s and the JC1’s.  The JC5’s blows them away.
Maybe the Oppo 205 which is new  as of last week, is making the difference.  But the PS Direct stream is no slouch.
I almost don’t need the SS2.2 with the P05x, that has the 3.7 and 2.4 as rears calibrated in them.
Just bought a pair of Pioneer /TAD S-3ex . Pretty cool, huge bass.
My living room looks like a showroom!!

I'm considering selling my CS3.7'S with the Smartsub SS2.2 and the P0X5 that is set for the 3.7's and CS2.4 for surrounds.
Black finish.
Will replace with the big Blades that I can new for 16g's.
Will sell for half that.  Looks like not much of a market lately. Any thoughts?
Prof,  it’s the shipping costs that usually doesn’t help.  The crate and the pallet and professionally packing  is expensive. They would be dropped off in the room you want them in.
   The combo sounds great.
We have a company out here that takes all the pain out of packing and shipping big speakers. They work with the Museums in SF, so they are the best and of course expensive. Would not trust any other movers. At least 2grand to ship to east coast.
And of course money seems not to be an object here in the home of Facebook, Google etc.  so selling used equipment is a bit of a struggle.
I just sat back and listen ever so carefully with my new Parasound JC5 amp and the 3.7’s and decided not to part with the speakers.  The bass is amazing now.
Audiojan. There is a demo/used Audio Reseach 75 SE for sale at music lovers San Francisco check there web site. I’ll check it out for if you want. It is a good retailer here in San Francisco.

i just sold my CS3.7 with the SS2.2vwith calibrated crossover to a long time lover of Thiel.  Hope he enjoys it.
Just sold my pair of CS 3.7’s to a gentleman in Southern Cal who has a a pair of 90 grand tube amps and similar pre. He’s loving it .
Shipping from San Fran with special care was 1500.00.
So glad he’s -happy.  $8800.00 plus shipping.
I sold my CS3.7’s with the matching SS2 with appropriate crossover to a gentleman who loves them, but he has way high end power, like 80g’s stuff.

I then bought a pair of Pioneer S-1ex’s and added a Pass Labs INT-60 , with a Parasound JC5 to switch off once in awhile, and for half what I got for the Thiel’s.  Not a regret.  The mid’s On the so-called TADS are really great.
