Thiel Owners

Guys-

I just scored a sweet pair of CS 2.4SE loudspeakers. Anyone else currently or previously owned this model?
Owners of the CS 2.4 or CS 2.7 are free to chime in as well. Thiel are excellent w/ both tubed or solid-state gear!

Keep me posted & Happy Listening!

Pair of CS2.4 for $1300 good deal?

How would they sound compared to Revel Performa3 F208?
I’ve been searching a little but figured it would be easier just to ask here.

I see some talk about crossover components to improve the CS2.4 and was thinking if I got a pair, would it be something that is doable?

Any info would be appreciated.

Chris
Thanks all who have put some time and effort into answering my questions.

I’m very capable of the DIY part (34 years of medical laser field service)

The $1300 pair fell through but have my sights on another pair that can be shipped in their OEM boxes/crates.

These will be for a dedicated two channel only system driven by a tube preamp to Red Dragon amp.

I can add a sub if needed.

Room is approximately

17’ long x 9’ wide x 7.5’ high sealed

Ok, I’m perplexed.

I could do some research but the expertise is here.

Same price and both like new cosmetically and functionally CS2.4 vs 3.6?

Chris
Thanks for the responses guys!

I have a buddy going to listen to the one pair of 2.4s that will need to be shipped if I decide on them. (He’s taking his Laptop and Mytek DAC with familiar music to demo)

We both have Revel F208s, although his are 2 channel duty and mine are L/R part
of a HT/MCH music system in a massive open living area.

The 3.6s are semi-local to me (in Texas at least) lol but haven’t contacted that seller as of yet.

Thanks again and I’ll update when I have something going.

I had a buddy audition the pair of 2.4s in the Atlanta area that didn’t go so well.

He brought his laptop with Mytek DAC to play some familiar stuff.
The seller has a very high ceiling and is only driving the speakers with a higher end Onkyo.

Obviously, my buddy couldn’t get a true feel how they sound compared to what he’s used to but he said he went in wanting to like them and be as unbiased as he could. (He has Revel F208s with 2 REL subs in a smaller room)

He mentioned that the sound-stage and imaging was good but that was all he liked about them.

I have decided to hold off on the purchase of them but if I can find someone in the Houston/Austin/San Antonio Texas area that would be willing to give me an audition, then I could get a better idea for myself.

Anyone?

I’m the meantime, thanks for the help and info from this community.
