Theta vs. MSB vs. McCormack

I am currently playing cds on a Sony DVD with my Sim Audio Celeste I-5080 integrated and Totem Arros. I want to upgrade the source with a DAC to match the other components. Hearing the MSB Link DAC mentioned as one of the best DACs under $1000, I'm also looking into a used Theta or McCormack DAC. Although I'm using a DVD player, my focus is on attaining a musical setup than home theater. Please advise on which is best match for my system.

I recommend Theta Digital. I have Cobalt A, Progeny A, Basic IIIA Dacs along with a Theta TLC. All of these DACs are clear, dynamic and very lifelike. I also have a Cal Audio Gamma DAC which is very musical, but grainy compared to the similar priced Theta Cobalt. I have also heard big differences in digital cables and recommend D.H. Labs.
