The secret to a great amplifier...

Is a $150 Orange fuse from Synergistic Research. Seriously, extreme boost in sonic performance. Blacker background, larger soundstage... if I wanted to make some bucks, I’d put these is cheap OEM compnents and start letting the accolades and purchasers come calling.

Mind you, I have a high value-oriented $20k system, so it was nice before, but damn!

Fine by me.  We've got an election to monitor and an orange man-baby and his trophy wife to evict.

redwoodaudio:" I might open one up and take it like a medication. Imagine what it might do for my immune system!"

I believe the proper delivery method, for optimum medicinal, allegorical and comedic effect and considering its size and shape, is as a suppository.

Huh? wtf?  Verbal calcified turds and dissonance. C'mon, man!

redwoodaudio:" Excuse me? Something bugged you, and that's fine, but to be very clear, I think these fuses could be a shortcut to cheap euphonic amplification, they are that powerful to my ear."

Hello redwoodaudio,

Yes, your post sentence made no sense and inflicts mental dissonance in those that read it:
" if I wanted to make some bucks, I’d put these is cheap OEM compnents and start letting the accolades and purchasers come calling."

perkri:" After the 4th, no one will be talking about Orange anymore... "

Hello perkri,
Ha!  Very clever, but it now looks like there are still millions of votes left to count,  However, you're still my huckleberry.

isochronism:" So ... orange fuse bad?? HA "

Hello isochronism,
I 'm absolutely certain I'm not fond of orange Presidents.  But I currently lack the required negative knowledge and experience of orange fuses that I, unfortunately, do have with orange Presidents!
However, I do agree with you, I have no current reasons to doubt redwoodaudio's positive experiences with these orange fuse replacements, either.
I also recall other threads touting the benefits of various alternative brand fuse replacements on sound quality in the past, however, that were not completely validated by thread posters that had bought and tried them . I remain agnostic on these prospective fuse upgrades only because I've never actually tried any of them and, therefore, have no firsthand experience, knowledge or relevant advice.
Of course, I could just buy a couple orange fuses and give them a try.  But I also know if I do, and I perceive no significant sq improvement and can't return them for a refund, that I'd feel like I just bought some snake oil.
This is the main issue I want to avoid due to my belief in the latin term 'caveat emptor', which translates to 'buyer beware'.  I also realize I'd be less annoyed by losing the $300 than being swindled on a potential snake oil scheme, possibly orchestrated by redwoodaudio along with the possible assistance of others. This would be far more irritating to me than losing the $300.
I want to be clear, however, that I'm not actually accusing redwoodaudio of anything at this point.  I believe he still deserves the benefit of the doubt, pending any future evidence to the contrary, that he is being sincere about his praise of the orange fuses and has no ulterior motives.
Overall, I've decided to remain agnostic on the potential sound quality benefits of the orange or any other brand of replacement fuses until I can personally verify the claimed sound quality improvements.  While I could easily just buy a couple and give them a try, I'm not going to do it, based on general principles and the knowledge that that's exactly the sentiment or urge that I suspect snake oil purveyors rely on individuals relenting to.
You guys all respect firmly adhering to important principles, right?  Just like requiring, insisting and ensuring that all legitimate votes are counted in a Presidential election, even if it takes a bit longer, before declaring the results in a democracy, right?

millercarbon:" Tim, they come with a full 30 day return guarantee. Hardly any get returned because they work so well. As redwoodaudio notes the improvement is not subtle. Its roughly equivalent to a good $500 power cord, interconnect, etc."

Thanks, millercarbon, a 30 day guarantee makes all the difference to someone like me, who tosses out nickels like manhole covers.
I also retract my skeptical comments and I'm climbing out of this QAnon subreddit black hole as I'm typing this.
I'm really glad to be getting outta that weird hole, it's like an alternative universe down there.  Everybody wears MAGA something and they all use their hands to help them talk out of their posteriors.

I consider myself a mostly reasonable monkey, who respects scientific knowledge and the empirical process utilized to validate and accumulate it.
I realize I prefer to keep an open mind and understand that I tend to gain knowledge about this hobby and my personal system preferences best through personal experimentation and experience. But I’m also not totally immune from trying, and even adopting, audio lore, marketing, tweaks and perhaps even a bottle or 2 of snake oil.   Do a pair of maple isolation amp platforms with brass cone-spiked footers and a pair of Mye stands count?
In other words, I generally like to try new, different and various products and methods in my own room and a/v system and then just call things as I see and hear them. In retrospect, I think this approach has worked out well for me over the past 40+ years and it reinforces my belief that this hobby, based on my personal experience, is best described as an audio and video journey.
Sometimes you’re convinced you have the answers and reached the blissful end to your a/v journey, only to discover there’s more to learn and discover. I think I’ve reached my blissful destination, but I’m not sure and don’t really care since I’ve enjoyed and continue to enjoy the journey so much, that I hope it never ends.

Enjoy,
Tim

You guys n gals think Synergistics charging $150 for a fuse is bad.  How about their new product, Mouse Milk at $500/ounce?
Their ad literature claims: "This liquid gold is gently coaxed from our pure-bred, corn fed, non-smoking, post-natal and virgin herd of mice by our extensively trained team of audiophile rodent wet nurses that have been preselected for their gentle, nimble and abnormally tiny hands." They also state the milk contains "non-placebo effect properties".

Sounds too good to be true, right? Post-natal virgin mice?  Audiophile rodent wet nurses with tiny and nimble hands? Those have all gotta be hard to find, right?  Perhaps this explains the high price?
In any case, I just ordered 2 quarts, I'll report back.

Tim

I was wondering if anyone has bought hundreds of dollars worth of these magical orange fuses, noticed no performance improvements  and blew their own fuse?
