Assume you really mean the MDA1000. The MCD1000 (now MCD1100) is a CD player.
The McIntosh web site says the unit decodes "PCM, 32 to 96 kHz 16 to 24 bits. All data upsampled to 768 kHz."
I'd suggest you call the manufacturer and discuss with them. That's pretty expensive gear to start hacking the minute you've bought it.
