The best speaker you ever heard?

In my opinion, the speaker is by far the most important part of the audio system. After all, it is the only part you hear. OK, the other stuff really matters a lot, but without a great speaker... No go.

I am a bit 'speaker-obsessed' I guess, and now I am wondering: What are the best speakers you have ever heard, and what made them the best?

1276 posts responding to “The best speaker you ever heard”. I haven’t read every post and I’m sure that there are many duplications as well as posts that don’t offer an opinion. But still, anybody seeking general recommendations for a speaker purchase should take keen to number of responses here.

Hi Obsessalot, you’re welcome. I see that you’re a new member and that this is your second post; or as I like to think of it, your second hit of the crack pipe. I guess what I’m trying to say is: it’s not too late for you to reconsider your path and save yourself, and maybe your IRA. Take a long look at some of these threads - anything involving tubes vs. solid state will probably do, and then ask yourself if you really want to wind up like this. If you still do, fine, and welcome brother.
