TEKTON IMPACT MONITORS

I ove this speakers , on my set up they sound really very dynamic and easy to listen. Is there anyway to replace their tweeters to improve them? I do love the design of the impact.Thanks

another tekton thread headed down the toilet

we live in a global world, boys n girls, get over it and enjoy the music
@danvignau

jjs49 "Lambo"? Before you know it, you could be driving a Rabbit!

haha dan, my only point in citing lambo as the outcome of starting with some seemingly minor mods on a perfectly decent porsche, was referencing a parallel to the op’s stated desire to upgrade the tweeters of his speakers

lambos to me are total cartoon cars, all ’look at me’ flash -- though in modern times they have become audis underneath, so the underlying engineering ergonomics performance have all improved considerably, and so even if one does end up in a rabbit or a lambo it is all in the extended family now 👍🏻👍🏻

to me the true ’reference’ sports car will always be a porsche, be it a gt3 or gt4... though i am perhaps less than 100% objective on this subject having been a pca nat’l track instructor for many years, with love and respect for what pag-sleds old or new are capable of
@rixthetrick

i will join in the chorus of thanks for your excellent contribution below

to me, there is no doubt that tektons work well in some environments, for some tastes, and for those people, there is value as the speakers are not terribly expensive - erik sells plenty of speakers, and even with a decent return rate, there are certainly many many who keep them and enjoy them

there is also no doubt that mc is clearly quite experienced at this pursuit, and has made serious efforts to make his choice of gear work in his environment, to suit his tastes (springs, bass arrays etc etc) -- that been said, all of us here with experience, who have been at this for many years as well, with healthy budgets for gear and listening room have done the same... that our efforts can make us happy is the aim for each of us, and most of us succeed

i believe the reason for the intense blowback towards mc and thus tektons (and raven amps) is the heavy handed, over the top, greater than thou way he in his onscreen persona chooses to express his opinions about their vast superiority ... it is basic human nature to react to that, post after post, with some level of antipathy and many eye-rolls -- certainly compared to what the rest of us have accomplished in our systems, such claims are suspect, at best

if it is his aim to encourage others to try his favorite brands because he likes them so much, there are certainly more effective, more sophisticated, more persuausive approaches to garner influence...

van l in the chicago area and bill @ millersound in pa are the best in the biz...
It’s just frustrating to see exchanges that prospective purchasers might find incredibly informative - the ‘I’ in FYI - find their way to the cutting room floor.
Perhaps there are reasons of which I’m not aware.

i agree with this... it is unfortunate, there was much useful information about tekton speakers in that post, of course intermingled amongst humor and other stuff, not the least of which were posts from the brand owner himself, who revealed his stripes and demeanor to a good degree, all informative to those who may be interested in his brand

there have been many many threads that have been removed over time, when i have searched for useful info on a brand/product that comes up on a broader search (search yields a thread, click it, says thread was removed), so the mods removing threads is hardly a new thing, been going on for a long long time, as one would expect

as to why, who knows... it is their forum, they have the right to do as they see fit, they act in their interest at the end of the day, hard to fault, this is not a public utility... we are here at their pleasure

other boards can 'lock' threads so that folks can still see the past exchange, but cannot poster any more comments, that would have been useful here
@carlsbad

Remember, Arby's brought out a 1/3 lb burger and it failed because many people thought it was smaller than a quarterpounder....these are sometimes the people you argue with on the internet.

love it... 🤣🤣🤣

never underestimate the stupidity of a stranger...
in all seriousness, in all these years in this hobby i have never ever considered randomly replacing/upgrading a driver on what i believed to be an expensive, well designed, good sounding set of loudspeakers...

to me, what we are paying for, above all else, in a really good speaker, is the maker’s exacting, knowledgeable integration and fine tuning of the various piece parts that in their entirety comprise the loudspeaker that was produced for us to enjoy
you start with a perfectly good porsche, you change out the headlight bulbs, one step down the slippery slope, and before you know it, you are driving a lambo!!
@stereo5

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

first its the tweeters, then the woofers, then the crossover, then the cabinet....
