Sullyman go to zero Fidelity, you tube , he talks about your questions.he did a good job talking about the DI, He got my attention to audition one.And I am not even looking for speakers....
|
I called Mike from Audio Archon very nice guy, the DI SE were sold to Ezra , I have to wait maybe six weeks to audition them.i do have the Andra like Waltersalas got curious on this thread. And end up keeping the DI.Will see. I’ll check with Mike probably November. To see if the SE are available for auditions.... |
Teajay thanks for the time we spoke, I can’t wait to add the Double impact speakers to my collections.Hopefully this will be my final addittion. How far are you from downtown Chicago? |
Put me on the list if ever Teajay decided to schedule a listening sessions to his house.i live 35 minutes north of downtown Chicago.., |
Baranyi , I told my audiophile friend the same thing, it’s really great time to be audiophile , so many selection and good products , with a reachable price....Iam greatful.... |
I admire Terry (Teajay) for comparing Double Impact 3k, to those more expensive speakers, Because some owners of expensive speakers, will not take it or they will become defensive on their purchase, I totally understand that...BUT for me if this Double Impact are better than my Andra I, I would be very happy, because it will benefit me, I will end up having two good speakers, iam too open minded to just be greaful on Eric new design speaker....with respect to Shadorne , I respect Terry more after the Double Impact review....my question is would other stereo magazine will let the reviewer say what Terry’s finding that this Double Impact is much better than much more expensive one? My own guess is no....
|
Milpai maybe some are tweaking or slightly modifying them, or just texting other audiophile friend, to tell them how good are the DI, or searching for tube amps. |
Wow Grannyring, thank you for the post, what cables did you use? What gear did you use tubes or solid state? Can you mention the cd or sacd you played n vynil you played?thanks |
I don’t remember Waltersalas complaining about the bass, or lean sounding , I read mostly all his DI post, I might be wrong. Are those DI were fully broken in? |
Grannyring, exceptional gear, but I think the western electric match your AZ speakers. From what I read the western is on the bright side, so DI being highly resolving speakers it will sound lean and bass won’t be right , my guest CT speaker cables will eliminate the lean sound, bass will improve, I think Waltersalas use the CT.my Andra 1 if I will put silver the sound is lean, The CT is perfect...Teo game changer and Reveal HF are good compliments...I do respect you Grannyring, I follow your post well..Thank you for sharing..... |
Grannyring, many years ago I bought Norh 9, the shape of the speaker is a piece of art, The sound is ok, I decided to checked what kind of wire inside was use, this cause me to believe it’s a cheap wire, My friend replaced the old wire with siltech silver, the improvement was more than, I can I ask for , the Norh 9 did sound more highend, Then my friend Markr converted this speakers to Biwire.. the rest is history, modification is good, if you do it right.. Now back to DI as it is , it’s already good, Granny my mind tells me just get the original ...I need you wisdom and your advise here...thanks |
When I spoke to Teajay, trust me He is a straight shooter guy, I ask him 3 or four questions, To my surprise, He answered them without hesitation, my kind a audio reviewer ,we need more like him in this hobby, thanks Teajay |
Sbayne And Milpai your post finally made me smile and no more hiatus feeling😃 it’s all about music and fun.To all who post today, thank you and PEACE to ALL.....There is no right or wrong , |
Let’s say no one knows what’s inside the DI? Will the impression will still be the same? When I first read Terry’s review I did not pay attention on parts, wiring, so I was excited to have them, then I read many post here describing the wire, caps, cabinet quality, drivers, some did say they are cheap, I have to ask myself Iam paying too much for the speakers, but maybe for the music is a bargain, yesterday posting is truly a very interesting day for the DI thread, it shows how many audiophile has knowledge , speaker sound preference , It’s fun n stressful to read at times, but there is a deeper sense to learn , it made me realize how special are this DI, 20k modified speakers vs 3k, the 3k keeps fighting back, at the end I notice the conclusion after all this 3k still a very good speaker for the price, this is the first time to see this speaker match 20 k vs 3k. At Agon....The 3k might not have won over 20k if Iam the 3k owner , I be more than happy on that match...my desire to get the DI is more after yesterday..... |
Tom I saw your system, how far are your listening chair to the speakers, and what is the distance between speakers....? Thank you |
David ten , I just got my tekton monitor, they were paired with parasound ss at RMAF it’s was match made in heaven, since I have the Plinius SA100 , iam excited to try the tekton with the sa 100, I just got my monitor yesterday they are hook up with my tube viva 300B ..will try after 100hrs...with my plinius ..my reason for trying my plinius,I have a feeling tekton monitor will benefit from more power....maybe DI owners feel the same.... |
David ten modifications is nice..only if done right...I have five sets of amps 2 tubes viva 300b, art audio concierto, 2mono Mf 550, Norh mono 200 mono, as well, so for now they are giving my expensive speakers a fight out of the box...so hopefully one of the amps will give more magic,,,will see...and no mod needed I like them the way it is...

Ozzy just call Karma they are too busy, I talked to them Thursday last week, I received my speakers Nov 2, just keep calling, Eric does answer email, it depends how busy He is.the latest he answer my email is two days, If you have a question , Teajay might be able to answer it. |
If iam in your place Ozzy I will not stop, until I get one of their speakers, I almost did not order because of Audiozen thread, I finally realize the issue are minors, when I heard the Impact monitor , I forgot I read Audiozen thread...they are that good....with your system Tekton more likely you will get good result....I felt bless when I heard them, I spend too much time listening now...I only have 20 hrs on them... |
|
Ozzy, Greg I agree, Ozzy should just post his question here, good idea... |
Ozzy Iam glad at least you are getting closer. Trust me it’s all worth the aggravation.... |
Agronatz even me I was uncomfortable spending $2100 on my impact monitor, without auditioning, I called Terry London who is very kind to answer my question, read the review of DI by TL, emailed Aniwolfe and Waltersalas after reading their post, They told me this are very very good speakers, I respect them, they own tekton speakers, And they were right, my monitor are amazing, With this speakers it’s worth the risk. The risk is very low because more likely you will keep them, 60 days audition, And they have return policy.... |
Ozzy why don’t you order one pair of DI and return them if it does not work out, $300 fee I think return shipping, but you have to enjoy them 30 days.maybe that’s the best way to find out....I ordered my impact monitor because of this thread... |
I tried my impact monitor with my 4 amps they sound very good on all of them, I prefer the Plinius sa 100... |
SBayne (Scott) also gave me assistance regarding the impact monitor. He told me they are very good...nice system Scott I like those rhytmik F8 Subs... |
|
Sbayne +1. (Scott) thanks again....I will try to update my system pic, since your impact are sitting on your sub, is there a trace of distortion? |
Scott I have high regard to Ozzy he a great contributor here at Agon, Markr discover CT cables thru his thread, and I heard it at Markr. And it’s the best speaker cables For my Andra...I respect that He wants more info on the DI.But if he audition The DI my bet He will keep them, I wish I live close to Him so I can help him unloading the speakers. And He is more than welcome to listen to my monitor...and serve Him good barbecue...😀
|
Ozzy, sometimes the chef won’t tell us the whole ingredient, or call us because they are busy cooking....Good luck moving forward.... |
Ozzy I know your passion is music, your reasons of not buying the DI is totally undertandstable, I get it.And I respect it. I still feel you deserve to have the DI, Good luck again moving forward....
|
Ozzy did you call Eric yet? |
Stfoth , Got my impact monitor, you will not regret it, with sub they are even more amazing...I felt every audiophile should have Tekton speakers at Home,.... |
Larry the problem before they breakin at Audioarchon place , they are sold.iam interested to hear them too. Since I have the impact monitorupgrade I will have a bit of idea where the DI Se are.will see if I will have a chance to hear them..Iam looking forward to buy the ULfs too... |
Treebeard that’s a good video by Paul McGowan, my room can handle DI or ULfs then....thank you ... |
Nitrobob since you play really loud, maybe traditional stereo won’t work, at that level most of this speakers won’t be able to handle.Maybe you need a Mackie PA 400 watt and those big JBL speakers , Like me I like to sing KAraoeke my stereo is not for that , so I bought this Kevlar speakers for Karaoke,no distortions, no worries to blow them up, My Kevlar are paired with Fender PA.From what I read the DI are fantastic if use properly, Iam ok with anyone playing any volume they wish....Iam not dictating how they want to use their systems...I also go to live concert a lot..We also have live band in our church every Sunday for praise and worship, |
Yup toed out it works on my impact monitor. Music fills my listening room , 3D is much better, instrument has more space...it’s more live in my listening room... |
Reminder modifications doesn’t always work, I prefer to stick with the way Erik design my tekton impact monitors. Be extra careful before jumping into it.He knows his speaker design why we end up buying them, and enjoying them. |
Khoo7 Tekton is coming at Axpona 2018 that’s cool.iam looking forward to it.... |
David come again, you are always welcome...😀
|
Corelli, I be there Friday only.....maybe all Agon member should write their moniker on their back jacket... |
The Encore always intrigue me , because of Clements Perry’s reviews, I bet they are good. |
Bstatmeister, yes he did increase, if I will buy Speaker now , I will get the DI, I will bet this are very dynamic speakers, because I do have the impact monitors, they are very dynamic.Corelli I thought you bought Encore? |
Yes I forgot , I am referring to jrcarcopo, I was watching Erik video last night regarding, speakers room overloading, He said if the room has good acoustic it’s hard to overload the room. Corelli I have the impact monitors half of DI and the perfect set 12 half of MOAB. I find the DI more dynamic than the perfect set,but I do prefer the ps 12 on classical, the DI on jazz and small band. Both are good speakers if you match them right. They like tubes. |
