Tekton Double Impacts

Anybody out there heard these??

I have dedicated audio room 14.5x20.5x9 ft.  Currently have Marantz Reference CD/Intergrated paired to Magnepan 1.7's with REL T-7 subs.  For the vast majority of music I love this system.  The only nit pick is that it is lacking/limited in covering say below 35 hz or so.  For the first time actually buzzed the panel with an organ sacd. Bummer.  Thought of upgrading subs to rythmicks but then I will need to high pass the 1.7's.  Really don't want to deal with that approach.

Enter the Double Impacts.  Many interesting things here.  Would certainly have a different set of strengths here.  Dynamics, claimed bottom octave coverage in one package, suspect a good match to current electronics.

I've read all the threads here so we do not need to rehash that.  Just wondering if others out there have FIRST HAND experience with these or other Tekton speakers

Thanks.

I would love to hear about the comparison between the coincident pre and the M-ZOTL... especially on Charles' side since I have Coincident speakers and Franks myself (copycat).  I currently run my DAC directly into the amps but think regularly about adding an active pre.  Unfortunately I absolutely need a remote (it seems odd to buy a pre and then continue to use the DAC's volume control) and am scared a bit by Concident discontinuing the remote version.  So many options once I leave the Coincident universe though.  It's intimidating.  Please keep us updated.
@david_ten Not to sidetrack the conversation, but Israel Blume apparently decided the sound quality of the remote version of Coincident's preamp wasn't up to standards and discontinued it.  I'm sure it's still great, but that also makes me curious about alternative approaches.
I had the same 4ohm/8ohm question, but my amplifiers (Charles' Coincident Frankensteins) only have an 8 ohm tap... any thoughts would be appreciated.

Regarding the Coincident Frankenstein & DI pairing, thanks for all the great comments, as usual.  I actually bought a pair of Coincident PREs, but Isreal isn't quite honest in saying that all of the company's speakers can be driven by any of his amps.  It was very quickly evident that they did not have the power to drive the speakers, an opinion that was verified by Isreal when I e-mailed him (and two other PRE owners I've talked to while working on the system).

I couldn't quite figure out whether I wanted to invest in changing the system to make the PREs sing (new amp vs. bi-amp), just go back to my old Coincident Super Eclipse IIIs (lovely with the Franks, but small for my room), or try something new (like the DIs).  Unfortunately I had to move temporarily and put my entire system into storage for a year, so I'm without the toys for a bit... just reading for fun and storing up some opinions for the future.
@almarg Ha, no, thank you Al.  As always, great information.  The Franks just provided very little bass output on the PREs.  My Super Eclipses (2 8" woofers going down to 28Hz) provided way more bass than the PREs (2 12" woofers going down to 20Hz).  Unfortunately I never got to make a real decision about how much I liked the PREs since they always sounded unbalanced without any real bass output.

I was considering passive bi-amping because it just felt like limitation was just with the Franks driving the subwoofer units.

Anyway, sorry for moving the conversation outside the DI topic.  I appreciate all the useful commentary... great thread.
Just wanted to thank Charles and Mac for running exactly the listening experiment I wanted to read about from my comments earlier in the thread.  Much appreciated... and a lovely thread all around.  Super informative.

Let me third the desire to hear a shoot-out between the:

Rogue Audio ST 100.
Line Magnetic 508ia.
Aric Audio KT 88.
& Coincident Frankenstein MK II

At some point I'll probably try to put two of these amps (I already have the Franks) up with the Coincident PREs and the DIs and try to find the best pairing.  Unfortunately won't be for a year or so, so it might lose relevancy... but the thread's legs certainly are strong.

Brian, very curious how the focal vs. tekton shootout goes... please do report your impressions.
@james_514 I once tried a Pass Labs X250.5 with a pair of Thiel 2.4s and was warned by Pass that the combo probably would be a bit strident due to both components having a bit of upper-frequency glare.  That was true...  the XA series fixed that problem.
@mac48025  Did you try a DirectStream DAC too?  I had one a few firmwares (& years) ago and ended up just going back to the Perfectwave... I periodically get curious about whether the firmware upgrades have addressed some of my issues.
When I tried the Directstream, it sounded brighter and less natural than the Perfectwave.  More detail to be sure, but I wasn't sure I liked it.  Perhaps I was just hearing more of the problems in my upstream (computer) source, but regardless, it was an easy decision to go back to the Perfectwave.

It's interesting to read about people having a different experience, especially since this thread is relatively biased towards Charles' "natural, organic" perspective. I kind of thought the "pro" Directstream crowd would be detail focused.  Anyway, as said above, different systems (mine is Coincident speakers & Franks driven directly by the DAC with music served over ethernet) and different ears...

I wish it were easier to sample others' gear.
Mike, for those of us without a dealer, do you know if the at home trial period holds with the SEs if you get them in one of the two base colors?

Thanks,
Chris
@greg22lz Please do report back on the new speaker cables.  I have the anti-cables and have been thinking about trying your replacement.
@grannyring et al.  Any of you know if Lyngdorf has any plans to add an ethernet input to the TDAI 2170 (or alternative)?  I started using one in my PS Audio PWDII and really don't want to play the USB game again...
@grannyring Thanks so much for the update... very glad you're still posting (and educating).
