Teac CR-H500NT wireless connection

I cannot get my CR-H500NT to connect to my Netgear wireless router network. In the CR-H500NT menu I select my network name and then enter the same password I use to connect my computer & iPhone. The connection attempt fails. I've retried to assure I'm getting the password correct. Any suggestions?
