Tannoy DC8 or Spendor Classic 3/1

Hi folks.  I'm trying to decide between a pair of Tannoy DC8 and Spendor Classic 3/1s used speakers (priced about the same), but I cannot audition either.  I've searched the forum for prior comments/observations on these two, but I'm interested in any current ones.  (I did a showroom audition of new ATC SCM11s (liked) and new Wharfedale Lintons (did not like).  They would be replacing the Tannoy 637 speakers I've been listening to for almost 30 years.

Disclaimers:  1.  I understand each person's listening experience is different and evaluations are inherently subjective.  2.  I also understand that other components and the listening room can have significant impact on the sound of speakers. 3.  I am not a tech guy or "audiophile." Taking all that into account, I'm interested in any thoughts folks might have.  Doesn't seem like either would be a bad choice, so maybe I'm splitting hairs.

These would be used almost exclusively for listening vinyl LPs.  I listen to a wide variety of music from many eras, rock, folk, jazz, etc.

For now, the speakers would be driven by a late 90s era Rotel RA 972 (60 watts) and separate same-era Rotel phono preamp.  Turntable is a Pioneer PL540 (still going strong after all these years!).  The room is not treated and is roughly 10 x 12.  It's actually more of an alcove than a "listening space"

Thanks.
