I recently bought a pair of used Talon Khorus X MkII (2005) and had the new upgrade installed for me by a local audio shop...I only have a few hours on them and it sounds awful ( like a drape is hanging over them muffling the sound) Richard Rives says that you need at a minimum of 200 hrs before burn in so I will let you know
talon khorus cross over upgrade
Has anyone heard the Khorus crossover upgrade currently on offer?
I have two real questions on it that I was hoping someone out there might be able to help with. I have the original Kohrus and am thinking there will likely be some improvement in them over the base corss-over that is now going on 9 years old. that being said, if I read the update correctly there is nothing but a raw cross over on offer. I have to sit it wrapped up in soft cloth behind the speakers? Anyone out there built a box/cover for the corssover. If so where and or how?
Second I am not by nature a speaker mechanic, nor do I want to be one. Anyone have a suggestion on how to get this done in the greater philadelphia area? Or how you handled the upgrade on your own if you did in fact buy the upgrade and install it, how did it go?
While I know they are trying to make it work the current offer of almost 2k with the do it yourslef and wrap it in soft cloth option is just not cutting it for me. Anyone who has heard it and can provide some feedback would be of help.
Thanks
