"System Controlled" mode for Tidal Streaming same as Audinirana?

Several months ago, I noticed that Tidal now offers a "System Controlled" option, which as I understand it, takes control of your computer, turning it into more of a dedicated streamer. I tried this function on my Mac, and the sound quality does seems better. My question is this: Isn’t the "System Controlled" function what made Audirvana superior to basic Tidal streaming? Has Tidal now caught up with Audinirvana, rendering it obsolete, or am I missing something?
