Synergistic Research Alpha Sterling X2 Intercon.

I am in need of 5 interconnects from power-amp(5 channel) to pre-amp. All my other S.R cords from power cords to speaker wire are the new Tesla series. I have old Monster 400 series 1's on all my 5 channels RCA inreconnects now and want to upgrade but not pay more than $600 for all 5. Are the Active Alpha Sterling X2's a good buy for almost entry level interconnects to boost the sound quality??? I can always upgrade them later to Tesla....Any suggestions would be of help...THX
