Synergistic Red Fuse ...

I installed a SR RED Quantum fuse in my ARC REF-3 preamp a few days ago, replacing an older high end fuse. Uhh ... for a hundred bucks, this little baby is well worth the cost. There was an immediate improvement upon installation, but now that its broken in (yes, no kidding), its quite remarkable. A tightening of the focus, a more solid image, and most important of all for my tastes, a deeper appreciation for the organic sound of the instruments. Damn! ... cellos sound great! Much improved attack on pianos. More humanistic on vocals. Bowed bass goes down forever. Next move? .... I'm doing the entire system with these fuses. One at a time though just to gauge the improvement in each piece of equipment. The REF-75se comes next. I'll report the results as the progression takes place. Stay tuned ...

Any comments from anyone else who has tried these fuses?

I would like to try these fuses in my sa11 s2.  I cannot get the lid off.  Is there a trick to do it.  Which fuses should I replace?  I think there are six inside
I cannot believe that their are some people that think that a fuse cannot make a difference.  Really, so we buy 1000.00 power cords and have a 10 cent power fuse.  It should make a difference and should be on any audiophiles short list.   That being said, how do I get the lid off of a marantz sa11 s2? I have tried many times and I am just afraid I will damage the unit.
I recently ordered a synergistic research black fuse for my sa11s2.  Finally got the lid off.  On the circuit board they have it labeled as a 1.6 amp fuse.  However, their was a 3.15 amp fuse in the unit directly from the factory.  So I will put in a 3.15 amp fuse.
My unit is always on.  Which component should I do next?  The amp or preamp?
I actually think it makes a lot of sense that the fuse is important as it is.  The best way would be no fuse at all but can't do that.  So considering all power comes through that fuse, before i spend 1000 dollars on a power cord, I should probably take a look at the power fuse..
I just installed the black in the sa11 s2.  Impressive.  Already much better than the stock.  Wow
Well, after 45 minutes of listening I am getting listening fatigue, very up front sounding more bassnthan stock.  I do not like the listening fatigue.  Hopefully they start to get less bright and more relaxed.  I guess they take time to burn in
I am listening to tiger okoshi.  Never sounded like this before.  Getting a littles better. Now is a little bass shy.  Breaking in
Wow, not even two days and I am hearing more air and decay than I ever did with the sa11 s2.  Listening to Robin Nolan Trio.  Never sounded like this before. Amazing this much difference.
OK, fuse has been in all weekend.the glare that made many recording unbearable to listen to is pretty much gone.  That's a good thing.  However, it still seems to be lacking in bass and the emotional musicality is also missing.  Hope it comes back soon.
I changed the fuse direction, definitely sounded different to me.  Decided to change it back to the way it was originally.  S on power cord side r on transformer side
Well, after 100 hours, they still sound very thin and not musical.  I put the original fuse back in sounds better to me with the original fuse.  More life. Less detail and decay though.  Cannot believe it.
How long does it take these fuses to break in?  It still is lacking in bass and sounds a little hard.  I can here why people like these fuses but it just seems like it will not break in
Well, I am definitely over one hundred hours, changed fuse direction, now I am back to the original direction I started with.  They still sound restricted, less bass, womens voices actually hurt my ears.  Not the organic sound I have heard about yet.  I hate to give up on them but I am surprised at what I am hearing considering all the great feedback
Yes, I added the days oregonpapa had them in his system until he was really startingbto enjoy them.  Looks like almost 200 hours actually.
I can't believe what is happening,  this is incredible!  Glad I did not give up on these.  Getter much better.  Now bass is more powerful than with stock fuse, less glare and brightness.  Omg.
Bass is back, sounding nicer, sound presentation is not as loose so to speak.  They just need to relax a bit more but getting better.  I cannot believe how long this is taking.
I had to change directions on the fuse.  Still getting better.  I can listen at lower levels and feel I am hearing more music.  I like it
Not sure I know what you mean about the direction.

Anyways,  this is really incredible, a little scary.  Transformational to say the least.  The effortless flow of the music through redbook CDs is astounding.  I can't imagine how these would affect the rest of my system.  By far the best value on audio I have ever had in my system.

Oregoapapa, what you said is right on the mark exactly.  Bass goes much deeper than before in a good way.
I am thinking of getting a sr red for the amp.  What is the difference between the red and the black?
As far as fuse direction, if your have the sa11 s2 the s I'd on the power cord side, the r is on the transformer side if that helps.
Lol.  I never thought of that.  I actually meant the direction that it is currently in. Which I believe r on the side of the transformer and the s on the side of the power cord.
