Synergistic Red Fuse ...

I installed a SR RED Quantum fuse in my ARC REF-3 preamp a few days ago, replacing an older high end fuse. Uhh ... for a hundred bucks, this little baby is well worth the cost. There was an immediate improvement upon installation, but now that its broken in (yes, no kidding), its quite remarkable. A tightening of the focus, a more solid image, and most important of all for my tastes, a deeper appreciation for the organic sound of the instruments. Damn! ... cellos sound great! Much improved attack on pianos. More humanistic on vocals. Bowed bass goes down forever. Next move? .... I'm doing the entire system with these fuses. One at a time though just to gauge the improvement in each piece of equipment. The REF-75se comes next. I'll report the results as the progression takes place. Stay tuned ...

Any comments from anyone else who has tried these fuses?

My neighborhood friend Charles just stopped by with only One SR Red 3 Amp Fuse. I wanted him to hear a new dac that I put into my system. The sound was good, but not that engaging. We tried different filter settings on the dac and different digital cables. We were just bored. I then changed my two year old Telos fuse in my Absolare preamp for the SR red. The sound was good and then I switched the fuse around. OH MY the system went from boring to lively with an organic quality that I never had before. It was at least a 50% improvement. Next week he will bring the black SR fuse over. I am just tongue tied. I never heard an improvement like this before. I can't believe the shear organic and transparent quality yet its not bright and the dynamics are explosive, but controlled. Who would have thunk. I told this to my skeptic friend Doug and of course he does not believe me what so ever. I don't blame him as I can't believe it as well. I am always open to new things as I was already using a good fuse in the Telos. I can't wait until next week.
I finally received my black SR fuses today. I replaced the stock fuse in my DAC to the black and the difference was eye opening as most people here already know. Pace and rhythm to another level, organic mids increased, relaxation and less harshness a big plus. I would say at least 40 to 50% improvement. I then replaced the red SR fuse in my preamp to the black and could not believe how much better the black is to a well broken in red fuse. The combo of preamp and dac together was something else. I was so involved in the music. I am not getting any harshness or brightness that other people are observing with the early break in stages of the black fuses. My next change will be the fuses in my amplifiers. The direction on the black fuse in my preamp was not the same as the direction of the red fuse. I am wondering if anyone else had this happen. I am wondering if SR applies their treatment to any direction and the lettering on the fuse really does not serve as a direction at all. Thanks Papa for this thread you have brought pleasure to my system that I can't thank you enough. It would be nice to meet you, but I don't think you are going to Axpona. Will you be going to Rocky Mountain this year?
Mapman, the reason for the above post is that these fuses made way more of a difference to me in my system than the differences in many cables.
Mapman, I'm just curious if you can hear differences in cables and different feet under components. I'm not be negative just that some people can't hear slight differences or even care about them.
I hope SR does not come out with a gold fuse next, would anyone change all their fuses again? I'm just poking fun at our hobby.
Just received my brand new Miyajima Madake Cartridge. Now I can replace the four fuses in the Aesthetix Io Power supplies with four black SR fuses. I can’t wait. I have not received my four black SR fuses for my amplifiers, hopefully this week. Happy days are upon us. Charles,  Doug helped me remount my turntable wall mount above my cabinet so now the turntable is easy to reach.
Cool Jazz is totally different than smooth jazz. Cool jazz from California is as good as bebop to me. Smooth jazz like Bob James is boring to me. I really can't see anyone digging smooth jazz once they get into bebop. I started with smooth, but could never listen to it today.
A friend of mine from San Maguel Mexico came over last night. He brought an ECM record over that was simply outstanding. It was recorded in 1961 with Steve Swallow on bass, Paul Bley on piano, and Jimmy Giuffre on Clarinet. This record is so musical what a treat. Its called Jimmy Giuffre 1961. This is a must buy and can be purchased on Amazon. I just bought it. I don't know if its available on cd.
Charles just slightly, but I know you will like this. I'll burn you a CDR when I get the record.
I have 3 jazz cd's to buy by this wonderful piano player I just discovered. Lynne Arriale Trio (When You Listen), (The Eyes Have It), and (With Words Unspoken). All are on the DMP label. The cymbals sound so realistic you think you were in a jazz club. I would start with the first one and go from there. Lynne's style of playing is more to my liking than Dianna Krall.
