Thanks Tbg, I will try your suggestion when I'm feeling strong and post the result.
Cheers. |
Anyone tried plugging huge power amps to the Powercell and what are your findings?. |
Barcardi, Maybe you can try the T3 UHC for the power amps. I will get mine next week and will feedback here. I tried the Hologram A on my pre and didn't like it at all which made it sounding a bit kind of like out of phase and too warm... I switched to the Precision AC and it is much better in my system with pinpoint image and great extensions high to low. |
Tbg,
No, My amps are solid state.....Precision AC between Krell Evo-202 pre and power being Evo-1. I didn't have any other SR cables in the chain when I auditioned them but will have T3 UHC for the power amps soon. |
Hi Guys, just want to let you know that changing to the powercell 10-SE from the 10 was a big improvement even without breakin. The soundstage got deeper and everything else are more coherent. I now have everything plugged into the 10-SE even my big Krell EVO-1's. Other SR products include the Acoustic A.R.T, Tesla Precision on pre amp and T3-UHC for the amps. SR will make me a pair of Krell cast cables with their Magnetic Tricon which should be interesting to hear against the Nordost Cast. |
Shellie,
Lets put it this way.... I cannot live without the art system. It is very spooky how they work and I even have 2 of the bass stations with one either side near the speakers because I cannot physically place it at center point behing the speakers. |
Hope someone here can help..... I have a SR Tesla Plex ( Euro schuko version) and wondering where I can buy a wall socket back box and front plate to fit it as I live in the UK. I'm currently using a plug adaptor to use the Euro Tesla precision power cable for the Powercell 10SE to the wall. Although I can plug the euro precision PC directly to the UK 3 pin socket with just the L & N connected but worry not having a earth contact might cause something bad to happen.
Lastly, what are your thoughts on the Tesla Plex?
Thanks in advance. |
I now have 5 sets of the Migs and shocked when I heard the 1st set under my CD player and just got better when more sets were added to the system. I've now found that going all pinpoint config gives me a more organic real type of sound with great focus. I'm wondering has anyone placed Migs with 2 along the depth of the amp and one oppersite center position because my amps are one sided heavy due to the placement of the transformers. |
No difference in sound quality by placing the 2 x Migs along the side edge of the amps where the transformers are located so moved them back to 2 front and 1 centre back in pinpoint config. I want to try some Migs under my 2 x Velodyne DD-18 subs when they are avaliable again from the UK distributor ABC Audio. Anyone tried them under subs and what are your findings?.
Thanks |
I auditioned a set of Art Basik today along with my existing ART System and bought them on the spot. I must admit that adding the additional Art Basik did not gave the massive improvement like the initial Art system but rather carried on the strengths of the original Art. The music took on a further 3 dimensional effect which at first was not easily reconized yet move yourself slightly away from the perfect listening position, you reralise the speakers vanished more. The vocals became a bit more coherent with more depth to the voice and start stop were quicker with blacker background. I will experiment with their placement further and maybe even try another set on the corner walls along my listening seat side.
The MIG's are definitely staying in the pin-point position for all my equipment. |
I too used the mix of Stillpoints and the Cerabase but I'm now all MIG'ed up. A friend who also used the Cerabase was not convinced in what I've told him about the Mig's so he brought them along and did a A/B in my system because I've already sold them and was he shocked in the result of the Mig's. |
Couple of questions if anyone here can give advice and input.
1: Anyone tried having the Mig's configuration with one at the front and two behind because of lack of room near the edge with the feet?.
2: Will a pair of power hungry Krell mono amps sound better through a seperate dedicated spur on their own rather than plugging them into the powercell 10SE with everything else in a different clean spur?. I have 2 options.... a clean spur for the 10-SE and eveything plug into it or 2 clean spurs... one for 10-SE and one just for the Krell mono amps with Tesla Plex SE?.
Thaks in advance. |
Ozzy,
Thanks for the info :)
If by placing the Mig's the way you mentioned, for example for the pinpoint configuration, do you have the front single Mig pointing upwards and rear 2 down or just as original instructed like the 2 front 1 rear setup to have the front one downwards and the rear two pointing upwards?.
Also have you compared the Tesla Plex-SE to other top brands like Furutech?.
Thanks again. |
I have 2 sets for my mono amps... the sound is about the same with just a bit more bass but I can see where they can be a bit too much in a wrong application and can go the other way. Just my half cent ofcourse. |
Joeyboynj...
How much better is the Powercell 10-se mk-2 compared to the 10-se?. Do you think the improvements are due to the newer percision P/C or the whole package. Have you tried swaping the precision PC over the old and new Powercell's?
thanks in advance |
Thanks Joeboynj.... I have since ordered the Mk-2 so lets see how it stacks up.
Anyone tried different connecting string cables for their universal speaker cells and what are the results?.
Thanks |
Anyone tried different connecting cables from the universal speaker cells to the speakers apart from the ones that comes with the kit and also use a gallileo MPC rather than the standard one?
Thanks in advance. |
scotty333,
Thanks for the info but I was refering to the tail strings rather than the speaker cables. Anyone else tried different cables?.
What differeces between the Galileo and the normal MPC on the Universal Speaker Cells?.
Thanks |
Sabai,
I'm in your camp. Too many cable companies has done the same by bring out endless newer versions yearly. I can understand that the designers are sitting there thinking of new ideas etc etc but ATEOTD, we are the ones who have to shell out our hard earn cash just to keep up. IMO, not all latest versions etc are better... it may just be different but sadly, we audiophiles are sometimes " sucker" and always want the best or the latest hence they gladly take our money because you know what... if they don't, someone else will. I do own some of their products including their Powercell 10Se MK-2 which I bought new not so long ago and is sickened to hear of the Mk-3 so soon. I won't be buying/ upgrading any more of their products.
Thanks |
Joey.... so how does it sound in your own words compared to the MK-2?.
Thanks. |
