Sure V15 for Transcriptors arm

I've just taken the Sure V15 Type III off my Dual 721, and want to use it on my newly-reconditioned Transcriptors vestigial tonearm (for the Transcriptors Skeleton). It's high compliance and should work well with the vestigial arm. The cartridge has two clips on the topside that fit nicely onto the Dual tonearm cartridge holder. But the vestigial arm needs a flat top. I'm considering just cutting off the clips to level the top of the Sure cartridge. But not sure if this will ruin the cartridge. Any thoughts?
