I'm driving a pair of Spendor 4/5 speakers (their current incarnation of the classic LS 3/5a monitors) with a Schiit Gjallarhorn amp which is 10 watts a channel. The setup is in a small room, about 11' X 12', but open on one side to another room. Zero problem hitting my desired listening level (approx 80 dB) with plenty of headroom and great sound. I've had other amps with these speakers -- a 35 w/ch tube amp & 60 w/ch class D -- and the Gjallarhorn sounds just as good as either of those. So, unless you are a really loud listener (in which case you've got the wrong speakers), I'd suspect the Sudgen will sound great.
Sugden 21SE and Harbeth P3 ESR XD?
Hi - Anyone here is using or used this combination? I was wondering how the 30W per channel work with the inefficient Harbeth? I have a Hegel 400 for the 73ESR XD and it is great. The smaller Harbeth are in my office, driven by ..... Dayton audio hybrid 200W Thanks for your input - it sounds ok - I think... but after matching the 7 with Hegel I realized that pairing is more important (crucial actually) than I (wanted to) believed before....
