Success Fixed my MUse Model 8 transport
I had been getting skipping and "No Disc" readings in the display. After trying a Discwasher cleaning kit to clean the lens, which didn't do anything, I checked google on line for how to clean clean the laser more thoroughly. I opened the case, very gently cleaned the laser lens with isopropyl alcohol and q-tips, and lubricated the rails the lens rides on and the cd drawer with a light synthetic oil (Liquid Bearings). Put everything back together and Success!! It has been playing flawlessly, no more skipping, no more 'No Disc' readings.
I was prepared to send the transport back to Muse, which would have cost me for delivery, insurance, and service, not to mention the down time of not being able to listen to CS's for 2 to 3 weeks.
