Stupidgood: Ars Sonum

There are lots of "terms of art" used by audiophools to describe sound and equipment. I propose a new one - stupidgood - a piece of equipment that blows you away, as good as it gets (more or less), and the price or the looks of it makes you incredulous as to how good the equipment is. Of course, I did not come with the term; that would by Bobby P. (Mr. von Merlin) describing the Ars Sonum integrated amplifier. I've had separates from ARC, Joule, LAMM, and CAT, and I can tell you, the Ars Sonum is stupidgood driving Merlin VSM-MXes, which can driven very easily be this little 30 watt gem.

Santacore, my impression of this combo is, simply outstanding! I have (or should I say had) the TSM-MXe and Filarmonia combo. The reason I say 'had' is I have just sold my TSMs this past week and placed an order for the VSM-MXes. I really wish I would have waited and sold the TSMs after I received the VSMs, but this audio hobby is expensive.

I am only upgrading to the VSMs to get more of a good thing. I considered myself in audio heaven with the TSMs and Filarmonia. It is the best sound I've ever heard.

IMO, you have something really special to look forward to. I guess I do to now.
