Stereophile Article - Holt telling it like it is.

I miss the days of JGH, HP, irregular issues, no (few) photos and expensive subscriptions. Now the trains run on time and a year cost you $12. It does feel like we lost something. But you know, some internet sites are filling the void to some extent.

Atmasphere, I usually agree with you, but I have know to many brilliant, interesting, and stimulating people who were disorganized messes in their physical space to say JGH may be as you describe, but it has little to do with his judgement of things audio.

Is there an inverse relationship between equipment that can produce good soundstaging (the visual) and producing accurate and balanced sounds - ar the two at odds when designing an amplifier? a necessary tradeoff?
