Ever-shameless Spotify has recently announced yet again that its hi-fi tier is coming (although of course they don't announce any specific date)--you'd think they'd have it figured after four years of teasing the launch. In the meantime, the other, better-sounding services, particularly Amazon, have caught up in terms of library and UI, although I must admit that Spotify's algorithim and recommendation functions are still SOTA. Sorry to rant, but I resent being played by the empty promises.
Spotify HiFi worth signing up for?
So...Spotify will introduce a lossless service called Spotify HiFI. I haven’t seen much else other than it will be CD quality. No availability date or cost structure yet, nor whether the HiFi service will have the same catalog as the regular service. Since I am a happy Qobuz Hi-Res listener, I am debating whether it is worth it to subscribe. Anyone have thoughts or further information about Spotify HiFi?
