yeah, it doesnt get up to speed like a japanese direct drive. between the heavy platter, belt slippage and stretch and low torque motor, it could take that long. Its only about 3 revolutions, so not really a problem.
there isnt a Sota around that gets up to speed in one revoltion, nor do any other belt drives that have a 12lb+ platter. If you want to get up to speed in one revolution, get a little rega with a glass or plastic platter, but I doubt they do either.
33.3 rpm is about 1.8 seconds per revolution. How do you come up with 3.6 seconds for the bars to stablilize equaling being up to speed in one rotation. I havent bothered to actually try the strobe thing, but it takes me more than one revolution to cue up a record anyway, so its not really an issue on my Cosmos.
